This was taken in the morning while waiting for our Roberts Hawaii bus to bring us to the airport. One last view from our hotel lobby of Kuhio Avenue, facing Waikiki beach. We stoned at the airport for a while.. will miss Hawaii very muchly! Not much chance of going back there in our lifetime so.. yup. Her hospitality and beautiful shores will remain in our hearts!
So sad, didn't get to wear the lei for the whole trip haha!
standard french toasty omelettey breakfast.
leaving hawaii grounds..
over the pacific ocean
i've this fascination for plane food, cos they come in such cute kits and all!
i LUV these chips. These are my 2nd favourite potato chips after kettle chips. Their texture is kinda like tapioca chips, just that they are potato chips!
Guess where this is?
LA! Here we come!
I think the trees are the most distinctive part of los angeles. Once you see these, you know u're in California! When we rented our car, funnily the rental people told us we could get any car in some parking lot! There were cars ranging from midsized to mini vans there. Being kiasu of course we zoomed to the largest one, which was a Dodge Caravan. Haha. But after loading our stuff in and trying it, we decided that it wasn't very nice to drive, the gears are behind the wheel and all. So we took out our things and hopped into a beige PT Cruiser instead. I will always think of Li Ling when I see these cos she's the first person whom I know drove one of these, and I only knew of this car from her.
The funny thing was, there was another couple [a black/hispanic guy can't remember and a white lady] who came into the lot slightly behind us, and they did the exact same thing! They first hopped onto a Caravan and then after that started shifting their things to a PT Cruiser. Hilarious isn't it? So the mentality is the same, regardless of race. Heehee.
It was late afternoon when we reached LA cos of the time difference between hawaii and LA. So We went over to the Griffith Observatory to learn about our earth and her neighbours.

A Tesla Coil! Which has absolutely nothing to do with astronomy but is put here just for the heck of it, cos people like it. -_-"
A model of the telescope Galileo used, and our dinner..
pieces of asteroids
left: a piece of THE MOON, borrowed from NASA right: the planets...
There's a piece of wall to my right called The Big Picture which is filled with stars and stuff, and it's supposed to be how much you can see in the size of your finger like what Einstein's doing.
Los Angeles night
That's a huge telescope at the top of the observatory. a pity that it was too cloudy so we weren't allowed to use it. It has Carl Zeiss lens!! Same as my camera ok!
This ball that swings around is supposed to prove that the Earth rotates. I have no idea how.
It was a nice educational walk
After which we went to check into our Days Inn Hollywood, and by the hotel clerk's recommendation we landed in a fantastic Thai cafe next door. =)
