This was the highlight of our trip! If we had not gone with the tour, this was one place I was gonna bring them to [6 hour drive from cleveland], and niagara falls as well. Most importantly, we wanted to see the cherry blossoms. These are blossoms that Japan gave US er, a long time ago. And they only bloom for a week, peaking on April 4-5 before the petals all drop off. We were so, so fortunate to be just in time to witness the beautiful sight, with great sunny weather too.
first glimpse of pretty trees
first we went to the lincoln memorial
the korean war memorial. i didnt get to come here the previous time i came.
if u haven't noticed, my parents love to take photos of EVERYTHING. signs, trees, buildings, and all animals
washington monument and the forrest gump pond
happily took photos and we realised later that they aren't cherry blossoms haha
dc squirrels are damn poseurs.. this chap did a few poses for me before bounding off.
next up the white house!! we were actually a lot more fascinated with the tulips than the white house itself. prettiness!
us capitol
this was a piece of moon rock in the Smithsonian space and air museum that we could touch!
and lastly.. the potomac basin to enjoy the beautiful blossoms..
we saw a couple sitting on the tree to take a photo so mummy and daddy tried too.. at the end the guy carried the girl down, so i made mummy and daddy do that too! Sooo cute, I was so amused that I forgot to take a photo! keke..
the jefferson memorial
our hotel that night was right next to a shopping complex! So we were glad to have a night to go out and shop.. mummy bought 2 pairs of shoes, here's she's trying a new balance one which she loves.. brown and purple! and another from target.
more cherry blossoms!
nice marriott room with a good view of the shopping place.
