Happy Deepavali 大家!! I'm sooo thankful too all our Indian friends out there for this lovely holiday. Been feeling tired the past few weeks, finally have a day to sleep til noon and wake up to a yummy brunch bought home by daddy. Fantastic, would be even better if I didn't have to work tmr =p. Once I get done with this post I can go to the library and borrow 8 books/magazines!! Yeah they're having some promotion now so you can borrow twice the number of books and of course not be able to finish reading them and then subsequently you can pay more fines.. nlb is evil.. After which I will go for my weekly walk around tpy central and hopefully not buy anything.

I feel kinda dumb for blogging about something that happened half a year ago but oh well. One day I'll catch up. So anyways. We're circling the states around Ohio, visiting them one by one. So it's Indiana for today. Actually there's nothing much here but I managed to drag 3 victims along with me for the 5 hour drive.. Hee.
So we left Ohio and entered the State of Indiana! We always feel a sense of achievement when we manage to capture those 'Thank you for visiting ___" and "Welcome to ___" signs at the state borders. Puji is damn good at it. You can see victims #1 and #2 sleeping at the back, poor things being dragged to Indiana by the gleeful driver. We came across a patch of dandelions at some rest station and stopped to take some picts.
I wonder what the Americans would think when they see some Chinese squatting around in a patch of grass along the highway. =p
The interstate 70 expressway has this really cute sign called SUPER 70!!
Lunch was at Arby's where you get 5 items for $5.95. I'm thinking Arby's!
Some farm near our first stop.
Hunter's Honey Farm
First stop.. Hunter's Honey Farm! It was quite boring and I didn't pay attention to the tour at all.
Really wanted to try wearing the beekeeper's suit but I guess that would be kinda smelly.
We bought some sticks of flavored honey.
lol.
Upon seeing these plants did I realize that the different flavors of honey are made from nectars of different flowers! Like clover, orange, sour apple and berries.. That had never occurred to me, I'd always thought that flavored honey was made by adding flavor.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway
This is where the Indy 500 is held! Coincidentally it's held in May as well but it's pretty expensive and probably sold out. The track tour wasn't open today [boo] so we didn't get to go around the track.. So it was just the Hall Of Fame museum for us.

love the logo.
I was too cheap and sick of museums to pay $3 to go in so I hung around in the souvenir shop and shopped. Hee.. bought a magnet which had the speedway logo with the wheel with the flying wings, love it. After which I was so bored I went into the car to eat leftover Arby's.. heh.
the corvette wasn't part of the exhibition, we just found it randomly in the carpark. hee.
White River State Park
"White River State Park is Indianapolis' version of the Mall in Washington" - The New York Times.

I have no idea what the Mall in Washington is. But I got conned sufficiently to go visit this place which was supposed to give a good view of the city. I mean, this place even has a website. And we all know that having a website guarantees that it's an exciting place to visit. There're also a few museums and even the zoo here which we're too cheap to visit.
Sebastian wasn't convinced. He looked like he was sleeping throughout the whole trip
We didn't even need to get sebast to pose.
We then drove toward the city where we went by 2 topless joggers. Hurhur.
There's this 'signs' exhibit around. Almost mistook this for the traffic crossing green man.
Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial
University Park
Indiana War Memorial
Veteran's Memorial Plaza
Obelisk Fountain
Looking back these seem kinda inappropriate. But I suppose they do hold celebrations here so it's ok. We also saw lots of brides and their posse of gown-clad friends hanging around taking photos. Pretty!
Vietnam War Memorial. There were letters from the soldiers' kins engraved on it and we had a solemn moment reading them.
Sunken Garden/ Cenotaph
With the capitol building in the background.
Yay! Off to indulge in doing nothing for the rest of my Deepavali!
