weekend in florida! day2 - disneyworld

it's a new (chinese) year!

Whoaa. Seems like I'm reducing to one blog entry per (two) months. Well, I'm still trying! My goal of finishing up my US entries and then creating my photobook seems to be getting further and further away.

So anyways. DISNEY!!!! This is gonna be a super long post w tonnes of photos. Thats why it took me so long to prepare myself to write it.

The Happiest Place On Earth.

Well, it was generally fun. Felt quite deprived of childhood cos it would be infinitely more fun if I came here as a kid.. Really, if you have a kid, bring them to Disney. Even the HK one should be fine. A kid would definitely go crazy here.. So much to see and play. It's very expensive though, you see all the parents buying princess clothes as if they were free..

and the crocs sandals things, each ClipIt (the little rubbery disney characters that you can clip to your sandals) cost say, 6usd. The sandals itself probably costs abt 50usd. AND the most amazing thing is that I see the kids' shoes FILLED with the ClipIt thingies!! so 5 on each side of the shoe = 10x 6usd just for the ClipIt things! damn rich lah. but i was damn tempted to buy them too cos the holes in the crocs are in the mickey mouse shape.. (actually now spore also sells that.. nice)

but, yes. loads of fun.

off we go.

It's a very organized place. First you reach the toll booth thingie and pay for your parking. Then you park at certain carparks named after the disney characters so you don't forget where you parked. I think we parked at Goofy or Pluto. Then you get onto this tram that brings you to another entrance. And then you get onto another monorail thing that finally brings you to the Magical Kingdom.

where dreams come true.. aww

greeted by pluto and twiddle dee and twiddle dum

even kevin got into the mood

=)

some of the rides we took.. Monsters Inc, Space Mountain (fun), Winnie the Pooh, Snow White...

Mickey's Symphony, some Jungle Safari cruise thing, Pirates of the Caribbean (saw johnny depp in some barrel!) and a Stitch themed 'ride'. For the stitch thing, we sat in this seat and they switched off the lights and they simulated Stitch running around on our shoulders, stealing someone's chili and burping (can smell the chili!). damn cute. wanted to get the huge stitch toy but settled for a medium sized one.

stitch is mine.

cheesy winnie the pooh ride..

my other new friend. for bubbles lah but she dun like this classic Marie but the lousy new minitoons japanesey act cute kind. pui.

we spotted tigger!!

the wonderful things about tiggers is I'm the only One! soo huggable. and i got his autograph! we were lucky cos we queued up for some time, and right after our turn he went to the washroom [snigger]

celebrity sighting

the Village Fry Shoppe turned out to be mac donalds selling expensive hotdogs.

there were MILLIONS of these things flying around. and they are good. they actually fly around while erm, stuck together.

Princess Belle giving a story telling session.

flora and fauna

murals of the disney stories

they had these hair braiding cheat money thingies that i almost fell for if not for the fact that i was there with er, 2 male colleagues who would be =__=" if i went for it

told ya. =__=" times 2 while queuing up for i think some pirate ride.

at 2ish, the parade started!

We were sooo tired but had to dong3 until 9/10pm for the fireworks! So, we crashed in a little corner while raj went to watch the 4d mickey fantasia show thingie again. Damn no image, i knew that a lot of pple were staring at us haha but we were too tired to care... taken by Raj.

Another show in front of Cinderella's Castle at 3ish. The teeko guys kept taking upskirt photos of the dancers when they swirled around and the skirts flew up.

Cinderella's Castle

Guess whose house this is?

complete with photos of her family.

Mickey lives right next to Minnie. His wardrobe is like, how boring lah.

i dragged the 2 guys to queue up for what, 45 min? to meet Mickey! I mean, how could we miss him! He was extremely gentlemanly and kissed my hand. Damn cute lah!! *blushes*

We'd been waiting the whole day for the night parade. Planted our bottoms in front of the castle for a good view.

And finally, the most spectacular fireworks I've ever seen. Totally fantastic. I really loved the fireworks here because it was the first fireworks I've seen that syncs completely with the music and theme. There weren't really any special effects, but it was so grand! Like there's this part where it plays some evil witch's conversation and laughter, and there's this eerie green fireworks.. And stardust-glittery fireworks with tinkling music. Kinda like musical fountain but with fireworks. The whole night sky was transformed into a large movie screen.. And it's hard to believe that they perform this every single night.

The fireworks made my day!
